Our Happy Hearts Weekend

We kicked off the weekend in our usual style, playing in the living room!
Think this is Harper's new model look! The squinty eyes...very fashionable!
Working on scootch-ing all around the floors - so much fun to go backwards!
And roll over...
I can't bring myself to trim her bangs which now hang in her face, so for a while we'll be embracing the "pebbles" look!

Daddy took his girls to Wheatfields for Valentine's breakfast....yummy!

Harper always looks like she's screaming with this face...in real life, it's totally silent, this is how we "pose" for all pictures now - heehee...

Such a big girl in her high chair!
Can't believe her birthday is this Sunday! ONE year, holy moly....
What an incredible ride it's been, so filled with joy... LOVE you so much - our dear sweetheart!

Enjoying the Small Things: Nella Cordelia: A Birth Story

Enjoying the Small Things: Nella Cordelia: A Birth Story

I found a link to this the other day on a Down Syndrome blog group I belong to.
(I warn you to have a kleenex close by if you read it.) It's amazing how similar & yet
different I felt to this woman when we received Harper's diagnosis.
She's an amazing photographer & has a great way with words.
Just something I thought I'd share, enjoy! Jaeme

February Fun!

While winter slowly passes by we find lots to do inside!
Harper's new moves include knocking down block towers that mama builds as quickly as she can, signaling to us (with hands up in the air) when she's ready to be picked up & scootching backwards on any hard surface!
She's an absolute riot, a total giggle-fest! Oh, Harper what did we do before you were here? Can't believe your first birthday is less than two weeks away, time goes by so quickly!

Eleven Months

birthday morning "do"

keeping busy while mama + daddy get ready in the morning...

playing with dad
new jammies, getting so big!
Oh, Harper Grace! We can't believe how big you've gotten! Eleven months, holy cow!
Every morning we wake up to you babbling away in your crib, da-da-da-da, ba-ba-ba,
ma-ma-ma-ma....so sweet to hear! You're eating so well these days, you are no longer
a vegetarian, gobbling up turkey + chicken with the best of them...you seem to enjoy most
things we feed you, other than fruit. Somehow, you don't really have a sweet tooth (yet).
You can sit + play for unlimited amounts of time now, have really mastered your exersaucer,
dare I say it might be time to put some toys away that you've already grown out of?
We like to read books + sing songs together. You're latest favorites are "Row, Row" and
"3 little monkeys" with all of the actions, of course! We are working on hands + knees
so that you'll be ready to crawl soon (some days, like this morning - you just won't have
any of it!)...all in due time. We love you miss lovely eleven monther!

Keeping busy!

Debuting the new pigtails!
Bathtime fun on Friday night!

Watching football with Daddy!
Playing with her favorite slinky while Mama & Daddy cook dinner
Always in such a sunny mood in the morning!
Well, January is here and things are finally getting back into a routine. Think the snow may finally start to melt soon...let's hope! Harper is starting to really talk up a storm, all kinds of new "words" are forming :) We're working on transitioning from sitting up to back down and staying up on all fours, we know our days our numbered until crawling begins! Such excitement to chase away the winter blues.

Had to get a pic of the Christmas socks We could call this the giggle machine! Harper cracks up each time the balls start to fly through.
Ready for Christmas with the Kawas

Auntie Jill and Grandpa + Grandma Kawa came over for some holiday fun!

Harper & Pollyanna hanging out at the Hilton
New Year's weekend was a little more low-key (thanks to a lovely stomach bug shared by all but Harper - thankfully!) Modeling some post-nap hair.

Last dinner with Pollyanna before she headed back to warm + sunny la!
Wow! Christmas 2009 has come + gone. It was wild, So much snow! We had such a great time hosting our first Christmas Eve in our new house. And, a few days later, our "on-the-fly" holiday
celebration with the Kawas! It was great to have Auntie Pollyanna in town for 2 weeks, lots of time to catch up. Harper really enjoyed all of the excitement as well. And, now as we settle back into a nice routine this January - we wish you a Happy New Year! May 2010 be as wonderful and full of blessings as 2009!
